I'm a cis-gendered hetero white male (he/him) who is married with two children and one dog. After a career in graphic design and video live production, I chose to follow my wife, Amberlee, into the therapy field. I am passionate about learning and from time to time teach psychology classess as an adjunct professor.
I enjoy reading, playing video games, art such as papercraft and painting, and playing boardgames as well as collectable card games.
My therapeutic approach is guided by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and its focus on Attachment Theory. I operate from a client-centered therapeutic philosophy and believe that my job is to create a safe enviroment and guide my clients as they work to create change and growth in their lives.
I am Advance Trained (Core Skills 1-4, plus additional training and supervision) in EFT. I am also a member of ICEEFT and KCEFT. I am also trained in EMDR and I have level 2 Gottman training.
As a person with ADHD , I am passionate about supporting my clients from a neurodiversity affirming perspective. This simply means that I approach understanding individuals and relationships with the view that not everyone's brain functions in the same way.
